Ten State Parks and Forests Reopen

Ten state parks and forests have reopened on Wednesday, according to the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.

DEEP announced on Friday that the state parks would be closed from Monday, when Superstorm Sandy hit, until further notice.

As of Thursday, the following parks and forest areas are open to the public:
 

  • Black Rock State Park, Watertown
  • Dinosaur State Park, Rocky Hill
  • Fort Trumbull State Park, New London
  • Haddam Meadows State Park, Haddam
  • Kellogg Environmental Center, Derby
  • Millers Pond State Park, Haddam/Durham
  • Pachaug State Forest, Voluntown
  • Putnam Memorial State Park, Redding
  • Topsmead State Forest, Litchfield
  • Wadsworth Falls State Park, Middletown/Middlefield
