Foxwoods Dissolves Partnership With MGM

Foxwoods Resort Casino will dissolve its partnership with MGM Resorts and rename its grand tower.

The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation announced the plan today as “part of an overall campaign to reinvigorate the brand that will include new developments, promotions and improvements to the property,” Foxwoods representatives said in a news release.

It comes at a time of improvement for Foxwoods, as the new Tanger Outlets are being constructed and the Grand Pequot Tower is preparing to undergo renovation.

“It was obvious that the iconic brand of Foxwoods needed to be at the forefront of our transformation,” said Foxwoods president and CEO Scott Butera, in a release.

The re-branding will take place over a six-month transitional period, according to the casino. The partnership was licensed in 2006.

Foxwoods Resort Casino is the largest casino complex in North America and MGM Resorts is a leading resort company with locations around the world.
