Free Dental Clinic Treats 2,300 in Hartford

An annual free dental clinic has closed its doors after treating about 2,300 patients in Connecticut.

The seventh annual Connecticut Mission of Mercy free dental clinic treated about 1,200 during its second day of operations Saturday at the XL Center in Hartford.

Organizers say the number of people treated this year has set a record for the charity service. The clinic is first-come, first-served to those who come.

Organizers previously said more than 1,600 volunteers were expected to provide services such as X-rays, general health screenings, cleanings, fillings, oral surgery, extractions and temporary partial prosthetics.
