The National Weather Service has issued a freeze watch for the state from late Friday night through Saturday morning because subfreezing temperatures are possible.

Temperatures in the upper 20s and lower 30s could kill crops and sensitive vegetation.

The temperatures are later expected to rise into the mid-50s on Saturday and the mid-60s on Sunday, according to NBC Connecticut Meteorologist Darren Sweeney.
