Friends of Kathleen Miskell are holding a weekend-long fundraiser to help the family after her sudden death on Wednesday.

Miskell died during a parasailing accident in South Florida on Wednesday. Her husband Stephen was not hurt.

The benefit is being held at the Irish American Home in Glastonbury, a place Kathleen often frequented with her family.

"She was always down here with her dad, step dancing and singing," Brendan McCann, a friend, said.

When the group of friends found out the awful news Wednesday night, they knew they had to do something.

Stephen's family lives in Ireland and friends are now raising money to help bring them all to the U.S.

"We are all friends with Stephen's family, we know them well," Maureen Christ, a friend, said. "We know that they would want to be here for him."

The fundraiser continues Saturday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Irish American Home in Glastonbury.

If you'd like to help, you can send a donation to:

The National Transportation Safety Board is now investigating the accident.
