Detectives Working to Unravel Motive in Gas Station Assault

A gas station employee is in serious condition after being attacked by three men at this Mobil station in Wallingford.

Wallingford Detectives are working to determine the motive behind an assault that left a gas station clerk with serious injuries.

According to police, a man was jumped in the parking lot of the Wallingford gas station where he works.

The victim was outside the Parkway Mobile gas station at 1001 North Colony Road when he was approached and attacked by three men Friday night.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after 10 p.m. to find the store employee bleeding from multiple stab wounds to his head and chest, police said.

The victim told police he did not know the three men and that they never entered the store. Police say the suspects are in their mid to late twenties.

The victim was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Police said he is in stable condition.

Police said the attackers fled south along the Metro-North New Haven Line tracks. They brought in a K-9 unit but were unable to find the three men.

Police are asking for help in identifying the suspects. Anyone with information is asked to contact Wallingford police at 203-294-2805.
