Glastonbury Police Seek Snow Plow Blade Thief

Glastonbury police hope someone will recognize a Chevrolet pickup truck with a lift gate they said is related to a series of snow plow blade thefts.

Last Thursday, a thief tried to steal a Fisher snow plow blade system from Day Hill Kennels in Windsor. The thief may be the same one who stole a plow blade there a year ago and tried again last February, police said. This time, an old furnace was in the way.

Windsor police said the thief took a brand new snowblower from the kennel instead.

Surveillance video shows the thief could have been driving the Chevy pickup truck Glastonbury police have been looking for for years. The pictures dating back to 2012 show the pickup has a lift gate for getting heavy items into the truck bed.

The thief hit a HVAC contractor on Nutmeg Lane in Glastonbury twice, once two years ago and once in September. One of the employees called it "a big pain". The thief spray painted the surveillance camera.

Police said three other businesses in that part of Glastonbury have lost plow blade systems to theft, all involving the dark-colored Chevy pickup truck with the rear lift gate and 4 by 4 logo nearby on the side.
