Cheers! Good Samaritan Busted for Drunken Driving

A South Windsor woman was trying to be a Good Samaritan and help another motorist. The problem was the cocktails police said she had before she stopped.

Lisa Mannarino, 44, of South Windsor, stopped Wednesday night to check on a disabled vehicle on Sullivan Avenue.

Around 10 p.m., police showed up to help too. That’s when, police said, they smelled alcohol on Mannarino’s breath and gave her roadside sobriety tests.

Cops arrested Mannarino, brought to South Windsor Police headquarters and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

Mannarino was later released on a $1,500 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court on July 7.
