A Guilford grandmother has been paying especially close attention to the new season of “The Bachelor.”

Jean Hill told the Middletown Press that  her 28-year-old grandson, Ben Flajnik, would be quite the catch.

“It’s a funny thing, having a grandson suddenly famous on television,” Hill told the paper. “He is the most wonderful, down-to-earth guy anyone could ever want to meet.”

Ben, a Sonoma wine maker, is the son of her daughter, Barbara.

While “The Bachelor” was taped months ago, Hill is not sure if Flajnik found his match.

“He can’t say anything about it,” she told the paper. “But I will say, he just seems happy to me. So I think maybe he found someone. “

So far, there have been two episodes of the show and Hill has invited friends to help cheer Flajnik on.

“It would be tough to watch it alone,” she told the paper. “I need support.”
