Gun Shop Owner Who Sold Lanza's Mother Gun “Appalled”

A Connecticut gun shop owner said he sold one gun several years ago to Nancy Lanza, the mother of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooter, and is "appalled" that it might have been used in the shootings.

David LaGuercia owns Riverview Gun Sales in East Windsor, about 65 miles northeast of Friday's shootings in Newtown. The Agawam, Massachusetts resident said in a statement on Wednesday that his heart goes out to the victims and their families and he's cooperating with law enforcement officials.

Authorities said Adam Lanza used an assault rifle legally owned by his mother, who he fatally shot at their home, to kill 20 students and six staff members at the school before killing himself with one of her handguns.

LaGuercia's wife, Shelley Clemens, said they don't remember which gun Nancy Lanza bought from their shop.
