Halloween night turned dangerous for two boys in Stamford when they had no candy to hand over to a BB-gun-wielding 12-year-old, cops said.

The 12-year-old boy and two other youths approached the two 11-year-old boys at an apartment complex off Connecticut Avenue at about 6 p.m. Saturday to steal their candy, authorities said.

The younger boys didn't have any treats and the 12-year-old shot one boy in the back and fired at the other, but missed, cops said.

The boy who was shot was not seriously injured.

The shooting suspect was charged with assault, attempted robbery, possession of a facsimile firearm and risk of injury to a minor.

His name was not released because of his age. He was referred to juvenile court, where he's also not likely to get any candy.
