Hamden Bank Robbed at Gunpoint

Police are searching for the men who robbed a Hamden bank at gunpoint Thursday afternoon.

According to police, two masked men entered the First Niagara Bank at 2856 Whitney Avenue around noon Thursday and demanded money.

Police said the man with the gun went from teller to teller “demanding larger bills.” The two suspects ran off with an unknown amount of money and were last seen behind Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.

The suspect with the gun is described as a thin black man standing about 5-foot-5. Police described the other suspect as a black man with a heavy build standing 5-foot-11 and said both men were wearing dark masks.
