Deputy Police Chief Brian Foley said the firefighters temporarily nicknamed the two kittens Deerfield and Smokey and the kittens are reportedly doing fine, the fire captain said.

The fire was out by 5 p.m. on Monday and 11 people were displaced and need to be relocated because of extensive damage to the house.

Hartford Fire Captain Raul Ortiz said they had gotten a report of a child being trapped inside, but said the person was able to make it out on their own.
