Connecticut's First 2016 New Year's Babies

Families across the state are welcoming new bundles of joy on this New Year’s Day and Nimson James Carr was the first baby born in Connecticut in 2016.

He was born at UConn Heath at 12:02 a.m.

Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center welcomed their first 2016 baby at 12:59 a.m. and he is truly part of the hospital family.

Connecticut’s First 2016 New Year’s Babies

Connor Patrick Whitman, of Bristol, was born 11 days early, to mom, Megan, who is a nurse in the maternity department at the hospital, and dad, Kyle.

Connor is their first child and weighs 6 pounds, 11 ounces and measures 19 inches tall. So far today, Saint Francis has welcomed three babies.

Anthony Josiah Rosa, of Stratford, is the first baby born at Bridgeport Hospital in 2016.

He arrived at 1:20 a.m., weighing 8 pounds. Anthony is the first child for Julia Serrano and she and the baby are doing well.

Aria May Yerukhimovich is the first baby of the new year to be born at Hartford Hospital.

Parents, Lillian and Iliya, of Manchester, welcomed their child at 3:22 a.m.

Aria weighs 8 pounds, 6 ounces and measuring 21 inches.
