Hartford Man Charged in Ongoing Sexual Assault of 15-Year-Old

Police have arrested the Hartford man accused of threatening and sexually assaulting a 15-year-old boy over a period of four years.

Pedro Ithier was arrested following a months-long police investigation. Police said Ithier repeated drugged, intimidated and sexually assaulted the teen starting when the victim was just 11 years old. Although the abuse had been ongoing for years, the victim was afraid to report it and never spoke up, authorities said.

According to police, Ithier drugged the victim and used force to sexually assault and take lewd photographs of him. Police said Ithier threatened the victim with knives and a handgun.

DCF was notified of the abuse last year and informed Hartford police, who launched an investigation in March 2013.

Police said Ithier and the victim knew each other and lived in close proximity.

Ithier is charged with first-degree sex assault, two counts of risk of injury to a minor, unlawful restraint, impairing the morals of a minor and fourth-degree sexual assault.
