Authorities say a Hartford man has been sentenced to more than 20 years in prison for producing and distributing child pornography.
Federal prosecutors say 26-year-old Eliezer Maldonado was sentenced Monday in Bridgeport to 20 years and four months.
Authorities say investigators executed a search warrant last year at Maldonado's house. On that date, they say, Maldonado admitted on multiple occasions he engaged in sexual acts with a victim younger than 12.
Prosecutors say he admitted he used a smartphone to take photographs of the child engaged in sexually explicit poses, and posted the images to an online file-sharing service.
Authorities say Maldonado's smartphone had eight images of the child engaged in sexually explicit conduct and Maldonado's email and online storage accounts had about 5,500 images and 267 videos of child pornography.
