One Hospitalized in Hartford Shooting

Hartford police are investigating an shooting on Main Street.

The incident occurred around 7:51 p.m. Saturday at 2006 Main Street.

“We had officers in the area of 2006 Main Street. The officers heard roughly seven to eight shots being fired across the street. They immediately ran over,” said Hartford Police Sgt. Paul Cicero.

They entered the building and found a male victim, Tequan Vail, 25, of Windsor, in the hallway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Someone drove him to a local hospital in a private vehicle.  He is in serious but stable condition. Hospital staff initially determined his injuries were not life-threatening.

Hartford police searched the building for an active shooter but have not found the person responsible.

Major Crimes Division detectives responded to assist in the investigation and Hartford's shooting task force continues to investigate.

Police are not sure what led to the shooting or how many people were involved. They have no suspect descriptions at this time.
