Hartford police collected 12 firearms and three realistic looking facsimile guns at its second gun buy back of the summer on Saturday.
The gun buy back offered people gift cards in exchange for unwanted working handguns, shotguns and rifles turned in between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday at the Pope Park Arroyo Center at 30 Pope Park Road in Hartford.
Police collected three pistols, six revolvers, two shotguns and one rifle at the buy back event.
Handguns were exchangeable for $200 gift cards, according to Hartford police. Those who turned over shotguns and rifles received $50 gift cards.
Guns will be accepted from all residents in the area but only Hartford residents will receive gift cards.
