If you're heading out, hang on to your umbrellas and anything else that might blow away.

If you’re heading outside Wednesday afternoon, make sure your belongings are secure and stop for batteries if the juice in your flashlight is low.

A strong cold front is moving through the state during the lunch hour, which will help to produce some serious winds.

All of Connecticut is under a wind advisory from midday into night, according to the National Weather Service, and that could mean winds up to 35 or 40 mph, and a few gusts near 45 mph.

Strong winds cane bring down tree limbs of entire trees that are weak or dead. With that can come power outages, so don't be surprised if the light flicker today or go out completely.

Thousands of Connecticut Light & Power customers were without power on Wednesday afternoon, and the numbers seem to keep creeping up.

The showers and thunderstorms will also end as the front flies off to the east early this afternoon.

The weather looks fair but breezy tonight and tomorrow.

Keep up on the weather forecast here.
