2 Injured in Crash on I-91 South in Meriden

Two people were injured in a crash on Interstate 91 south in Meriden that closed the highway on Friday night.

Police said a driver did not notice that the vehicles in front of him were slowing down because of a prior crash and he lost control when he tried to stop his landscaping truck, flipping the truck over onto two other vehicles.

The drivers of the two vehicles that were struck were brought to Yale-New Haven Hospital to be treated for minor injuries, according to state police.

Police charged the driver suspected of being at fault with failure to maintain a safe distance.
