A 35-year-old Plantsville man was badly injured in a crash on Country Club Road, near Interstate 91 in Middletown just before 6 a.m.
State police said Kristopher Grant was driving a BMW and off the road near the I-91 north exit 20 off ramp on Country Club Road and hit trees.
LifeStar responded and transported Grant to Hartford Hospital.
Fire officials said his legs were injured.
