Teacher Accused of Improper Lessons

Former Teacher Arrested on Sex Assault Charges

A former teacher at a Connecticut magnet school was arrested, accused of sexually assaulting a teenager.

Adam Friedman, 44, who taught at the ACT Performing Arts Magnet High School in Willimantic, is accused of having an ongoing sexual relationship with a 15-year-old student.

Friedman turned himself in Monday morning, after a 3-week investigation by state police. He's charged with more than 20 counts of sex assault and risk of injury to a minor, and is being held on $750,000 bond.

There are charges in three different jurisdictions. He will be in court the next two days in GA 11 and GA 12.

His attorney said he was employed at the school several years and that he lost his job over this investigation.
