School Shooting in California

Two students were killed when a 16-year-old classmate pulled a handgun from his backpack and opened fire Thursday morning at a high school in Santa Clarita. The deceased students were identified as a 14-year-old boy and 16-year-old girl. Three other victims remained hospitalized. Police said the suspect, who is in grave condition, shot himself in the head. Learn more about the tragedy here.

Two Flu-Related Deaths in Connecticut

Two flu-related deaths have been reported in Connecticut this season. Both patients were over 65 years old. Experts are urging te public to consider getting a  flu vaccine and to take precautions to protect against the flu. Get more information here.

The state Department of Public Health announced Thursday that the first two flu-related deaths of the season have been reported in Connecticut.

Man Dead, Woman Hurt in Thompson Stabbing

A 28-year-old man has been charged with murder and assault in a stabbing that killed a 61-year-old man and injured a 55-year-ld woman in Thompson.  See more on the incident here.

"Heroic" Worcester Firefighter Dies Saving Others

A Worcester, Massachusetts, fire lieutenant died early Wednesday as he and his crew responded to report of a trapped baby during a raging fire at an apartment building. Lt. Jason Menard, a 39-year-old husband and father of three, died of his injuries after his "heroic efforts" to save people in the four-alarm fire. Read the details here.
