Independent Film Shot in Hartford To Debut

"Voids" , a film written and directed by University of Hartford graduate Kyle Rodgers, will debut at Spotlight Theaters on Sunday, April 24.

A science-fiction noir, the story follows Kathryn, the angry and despondent lead character who is sent to an alternate reality to try and track down information on the death of her partner. 

"Voids" is told through still images. The method helps to convey the eeriness of the world that "Voids" is set in.The film was shot on black & white 35mm still film. Rodgers developed, scanned, and processed all of the film by hand.

The actors are current students and alumni of the The Hartt School of acting at the University of Hartford.

The film was shot and produced locally in Hartford and surrounding towns. You can see some familiar places like the state's Capitol building and shots along Front Street.
