A lot has changed for Javier Colon. Less than a year after winning "The Voice,” the Connecticut native has a new album out and is headlining his very own tour. During rehearsals for his show at the Ridgefield Playhouse, he stopped to share the unbelievable opportunities that have come his way.

“I still kind of pinch myself and think about how every day is a blessing. I know how long it took to get to this point,” said Javier Colon.

He also knows what a challenge it is to win "The Voice” and how nerve-wracking it is every week as you push your talents to the limits.

“As you get further and further into the competition, it gets harder. You start making friends, especially in the battle round competitions you have to battle against someone else,” he said.

Because he knows firsthand what these contestants are going through, Javier says he'll be tuning into this season of “The Voice,” no matter where his tour takes him.

“I'm looking forward to seeing it on this end, just to be a fan of theirs and see them kind of grow and be coached by these great artists,” said Colon.

His one piece of advice to the contestants: “just worry about taking it one week at a time, one song at a time, and don't worry about what anybody else is doing.”

That's what Javier did, and now he's living his dream.
