LifeStar Airlifts 2 People After ATV Crashes Into Tree in Haddam

LifeStar airlifted two people to Hartford Hospital to be treated for serious injuries after a crash involving an all-terrain vehicle in Haddam early Saturday morning.

The Haddam Volunteer Fire Company responded to the intersection of Filley and Jericho roads at 4:40 a.m. Saturday. A driver lost control of the ATV he was driving and crashed into a tree, throwing him and his passenger from the vehicle, fire officials said on the Haddam Volunteer Fire Company's Facebook page.

Haddam firefighters treated the injured parties at the scene and then EMTs from Haddam Volunteer Ambulance Service and Chester Hose Company Ambulance took them to the landing zone of a LifeStar helicopter on Beaver Meadow Road. LifeStar airlifted them to Hartford Hospital.

Neither injured party was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, fire officials said.
