LifeStar Requested After Injured Hiker Rescued From Ragged Mountain in Berlin

LifeStar was called in to transport an injured hiker after an accident on Ragged Mountain in Berlin Thursday evening, according to police.

Police confirmed rescued crews were called out to Ragged Mountain just before 5 p.m. to search for two female hikers who were lost in the woods.

The hikers, who were teens, were found using GPS tracking. The teen transported by LifeStar was found bleeding and with a broken femur, police said. The second had less serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

The teens were found in an area that is known for cliff jumping, though authorities could not confirm if that was what caused the injuries. It is illegal to cliff jump in the area, police said.

No other details were immediately available.
