State police have identified the victim in a fatal bike accident in Haddam.
State police say they responded to the incident at 2:50 p.m Saturday. The crash occurred near the intersection of Jail Hill Road and Saybrook Road (Route 154). Police say the bicyclist rode through a stop sign at the bottom of Jail Hill Road and crossed into Saybrook Road. The bike struck the rear passenger side of a Lincoln Aviator, driven by Amy Feulner, 38, of Oriole Road in East Haddam.
The bicyclist sustained serious injuries and later died. Feulner was transported to Middlesex Hospital but sustained no apparent injuries.
The bicyclist did not have identification on him and troopers asked for the public’s help to discover the man’s identity. He has been identified as Tadeusz Grabala, 57, of Williamsburg Road in Higganum.
State police continue to investigate the crash.
