Homeowners on Sunset Ridge Drive in Southington have lost power at least seven times since late August.
"Way too much," said Renee Cascio. "We went out yesterday, came home, we have no power. We have kids who need to do homework. Everybody's got their own priorities and things to get done you can't do without power."
Connecticut Light & Power and its contractor have been trying to replace the street's underground electrical cable, but after workers leave for the day, their splices fail, and repair crews have to move in.
"This has not been the level of service that our customers expect or deserve," said Mitch Gross, CL&P spokesman. "But we are totally focused on it. This job, I'm told, will be finished tonight - if not tonight, first thing tomorrow morning."
First, though, the 14 customers of Sunset Ridge Drive will have to endure one more outage some time between 9 p.m. and midnight Monday, an outage that will last up to an hour, Gross said.
