Local Dunkin' Donuts Robbed at Knifepoint

Manchester Police are investigating after a man with a machete robbed a local Dunkin Donuts on Hartford Road.

That same man could be responsible for several other armed robberies, according to police. There have been six in that area on Hartford Road just in the last few months.

Police released pictures of the suspect they are looking for. He was caught on camera just after 5a.m., threatening workers with a machete and demanding money. His entrance shows how brazen he is. According to police, the armed robber initially tried the front door, but it was locked. So he jumped in through the drive-thru window. Minutes later, surveillance from a nearby business shows him taking the same way out, running off with cash from the register.

Customers are on high alert and so are employees at nearby businesses.

“I think I want to be more aware of my surroundings,” said Rosemary Hills.

Investigators told NBC Connecticut it’s possible the same crook targeted the Mobil Station a few feet away that same month. Cameras captured the hooded suspect with a machete during the hold up.

“You hear about a lot of people getting robbed lately,” explained Chris Rouse at Sunoco. This place was robbed in December. Rouse says police made an arrest, but questions if the man with the machete will show up here.

If you have any information call the Manchester Police Department.
