Lots of “Dislikes” for Facebook News Feed

Hundreds of Connecticut Facebook users are not happy about the changes.

The changes you noticed when you logged into Facebook for the first time today were meant to improve your experience, but NBC Connecticut’s Facebook friends find the changes anything but improvements.

We asked you on Facebook what you thought of the news feed. Within moments, hundreds of you said you did not like it, and many comments were in stronger words than that.

“Hate it,” was one popular comment. “Not digging it,” was another.

But, some of you are more optimistic.

“It's fine!! It is only Facebook people! Just deal with it and deal with the changes! “ Laurie Curnutte posted.

Facebook’s intention is that your news feed will act like a personal newspaper so you don’t not miss important updates, no matter when you last signed on, according to Facebook’s blog.

“All your news will be in a single stream with the most interesting stories featured at the top. If you haven't visited Facebook for a while, the first things you'll see are top photos and statuses posted while you've been away. They're marked with an easy-to-spot blue corner,” Mark Tonkelowitz wrote on Facebook’s blog. “(I)t's not just the people you hear from that make your News Feed interesting. It also matters how much you visit Facebook. If you haven't returned in a week, you may want to see a summary of top stories first. If you've already visited several times that day, you probably care more about recent news.”

Whether we will all get used to it or Facebook decides to make another change remains to be seen.

In the meantime, we want to know what you think. Comment on this story or head over to our Facebook page and comment there.
