Two MTA officers arrested an alleged bank robber Friday afternoon in New York City after being notified of a bank robbery at 79th Street and York Ave in Manhattan.
Police arrested 48 year-old Jerry Walton of Waterbury at the Harlem-125th Street Station. He was waiting for the 12:17 train to Waterbury on the New Haven Line Train when he was caught in possession of over $6,860 dollars and a small amount of heroin.
Authorities said Walton was caught after MTA PD Officers Michael Burns and Joseph Terracciano, recognized him from a wanted poster they had in their hands.
The NYPD had reissued the wanted poster Thursday for a suspect wanted in six prior bank robberies in Manhattan.
Walton is suspected in connection with six prior bank robberies and as well as the one that took place Friday morning.
