Robbery at I-95 Rest Stop in Madison

    State police responded to a robbery at the McDonald's at the rest top on I-95 South in Madison on Monday morning.

    Two masked men armed with handguns robbed the McDonald's at the rest stop on the southbound side of I-95 in Madison on Monday morning.

    The two men, wearing ski masks, came into the McDonald's restaurant around 3:30 a.m., according to police.  The rest stop is located between exits 62 and 61 on I-95 South.

    There were four employees in the restaurant, but no customers at the time of the robbery.

    Three employees sustained minor injuries during the robbery, police said.  They were taken to the Guilford Shoreline Clinic, where they were treated and released.

    State police K-9 teams responded to the scene, but were unable to locate the men involved.

    Anyone who may have witnessed anything in the area of the McDonald's is asked to call State Police Troop F in Westbrook at 860-399-2100.
