Man Accused of Shooting At Person Entering Hamden Diner

Hamden Police have arrested a man who is accused of shooting at someone who was entering a diner last month.

Officers responded to the Three Brothers Diner on Dixwell Avenue in the early morning hours of December 16, 2018, after getting a report of shots fired.

According to investigators, shortly after 2 a.m., 24-year-old Trevon Highsmith, of New Haven, fired multiple gunshots at someone who was entering the diner. The person was not injured.

After the shooting, police said Highsmith entered a vehicle and fled south on Dixwell Avenue.

Detectives later applied for and were granted an arrest warrant for Highsmith.

Police arrested Highsmith on Thursday. He is facing charges including illegal discharge of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit and reckless endangerment.

Highsmith was detained on a court-ordered $100,000 bond and will be in court on January 31.
