A New London man is facing charges in connection with the assault of a two-month old child.

Emergency responders arrived at a New London residence around 2 a.m. Friday following the report of an unconscious two-month old child.

The young victim was transported to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries, police said.

The injuries were determined to be non-accidental, according to police.

Through their investigation, officers were able to name Adam Browne, 24, as a suspect. Browne was placed under arrest and charged with first-degree assault and risk of injury to a minor.

Browne is being held on $500,000 bond.
