Man Arrested in Granby Auto Wash Stabbing

Police arrested a man who stabbed another man in an altercation at Granby Auto Wash, police said.

Dellard Martin, 26, of Hartford, is facing assault and reckless endangerment charges after he got into a fight with someone else he knew in his mid-20s and stabbed him in the abdomen, police said. Officers responded to the 116 Salmon Brook Street auto wash after receiving reports of the incident at 3:55 p.m. on Friday.

Granby police notified area police departments about the suspect's vehicle description and Bloomfield police pulled Martin over at Blue Hills and Elizabeth.

Officers took him into custody without an issue.

The victim was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Hartford and had to undergo surgery on Friday, but he's since been released. His condition is unknown, but his injury isn't believed to be life-threatening.

Martin was released after posting a $50,000 surety bond. He is scheduled to appear in Enfield Superior Court on Jan. 26.
