A New Britain man is accused of stealing money from laundry machines at an apartment complex on North Turnpike Saturday morning.

Wallingford police arrested 23 year-old Felix Santiago of 632 West Main Street. He is charged with two counts of third-degree burglary, larceny of coin operated machines, possession of burglary tools, sixth-degree larceny, and sixth-degree criminal attempt at larceny.

A maintenance supervisor at the Northridge Commons apartment complex at 16 North Turnpike Road, called police after he saw the suspect on surveillance cameras entering the laundry room and removing all of the coins from the laundry machines.

Santiago stole $350 worth of coins. Police say they found Santiago with keys to the complex's laundry machines and burglar's tools.

He is being held on $50,000 bail and will appear in Meriden Superior Court on November 2nd.
