A resident of 510 East Main St. in Stratford called police on Wednesday to report that someone fired a bullet through her floor and officers arrested her neighbor.

Brian Glodgett, 31, who lives in the unit adjacent to the woman’s, told officers that he was loading a rifle in his home and it accidentally discharged, police said.

Officers retrieved the rifle from under his bed, police said, and Glodgett was taken into custody.

He was transported to police headquarters and charged with reckless discharge of a firearm and reckless endangerment. He was held on a $500 bond.

He is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Court on Oct. 25.
