This Atwater Street business was damaged after a man crashed his car into it Sunday morning.
A man driving erratically on Interstate 84 in Southington drove his car into an area business early Sunday.
Police said the man was seen swerving in and out of lanes on I-84 eastbound in the area of exit 30 around 2:30 a.m. He drove the car off the highway, down an embankment and into Southington Tool & Manufacturing on Atwater Street, police said. The car was found partially inside the building. Police found the man walking along I-84 a short time later.
The man told police he had become distraught after an argument with his wife in Waterbury turned physical. He stated he took a large dose of Tylenol intending to kill himself before getting in his car.
He was taken to The Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain for treatment.
There is no word on his condition or if any charges will be filed.
