Man Found With Drugs in Car After Salisbury Crash: State Police

State police arrested a North Haven man on drug charges after they say troopers found a variety of drugs in his vehicle while they were responding to a rollover crash in Salisbury Friday.

According to police, around 10:45 p.m. troopers responded to Route 112 near Dugway Road for a single-car rollover. When they arrived they found the vehicle on the roof and the driver, identified as 22-year-old Patrick Mimms, standing outside unhurt.

While troopers investigated the crash they noticed a jar of marijuana in clear view in the vehicle. According to police, a search turned up other drugs – 1.03 ounces of cocaine, 1.63 ounces of marijuana, .32 ounces of hallucinogenic mushrooms and over $4,300 in cash.

Mimms was arrested and charged with illegal possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to carry minimum insurance, traveling too fast for conditions, and failure to maintain proper lane.

He was released on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 25.
