Man Held on $5 Million Bond in East Windsor Bank Robbery Arrest

Police arrested a man Saturday suspected of robbing the Nutmeg State Federal Credit Union in East Windsor in July.

David Johnson, 27, of Enfield, is facing multiple charges involving robbery and kidnapping with the use of a firearm.

A man brandishing a gun and concealing his face with a ski mask and wearing a hooded sweatshirt entered the bank on July 21 at 1:32 p.m. He pointed the gun at the bank teller and stole cash, police said.

Several agencies investigating identified Johnson as the suspect. East Windsor, Enfield and Windsor police, FBI agents and a Capital Region Emergency Services Team served him an arrest warrant on Saturday. He cooperated with police when they took him into custody.

Police charged Johnson with first-degree robbery, first-degree larceny with a firearm, first-degree kidnapping with a firearm, criminal use of a firearm, first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree threatening and carrying a hand gun without a permit.

Police held him in custody on a $5 million court-set bond. He is scheduled to appear in Enfield Superior Court on Monday.
