A shooting near a Bridgeport nightclub injured a 28-year-old man, and police are investigating to figure out what happened and why.

According to police, a dispute broke out at Delight Lounge at 1611 Barnum Avenue in Bridgeport around 12:40 a.m. Wednesday. Club-goers spilled out into the parking lot, where shots were fired.

Police arrived on scene to find a large crowd outside the club and cars driving away.

Evidence indicates two weapons were fired, police said. Around 1 a.m., police received reports that a gunshot victim had been admitted to Bridgeport Hospital. The 28-year-old man was shot once in the neck. Police said his injuries are non-life threatening.

Authorities are investigating to determine whether a two-car crash on Summerfield Avenue is related to the shooting.
