Man Left Wife in Van to Solicit Prostitute: Police

Police said he asked for sex after he dropped off his wife.

A New Britain man was arrested in a prostitution bust in Springfield, Massachusetts on Thursday, accused of soliciting a woman for sex after dropping off his wife.

Police said Edward Brown, 49, of Smalley Street in New Britain, left his wife in their van when he approached an undercover officer working in the south end of Springfield.

He is accused of offering the undercover officer $30 for sex after he dropped off his wife.

A FedEx driver from East Hartford was arrested during the sting as well.

Police said he was driving his truck at the time and offered $30 for sex in the back of it.

Both will be arraigned in court in Springfield on Friday.
