Man Pushed Girlfriend Onto Train Tracks: Police

Waterbury police have arrested a Naugatuck man who is accused of pushing his girlfriend onto train tracks in Waterbury on Thursday.

The woman suffered a large cut to the head and was taken to Waterbury Hospital, but was not seriously injured, according to police.

The incident happened around 4:45 p.m. and a Metro-North train that had been traveling to Waterbury was held while emergency crews responded and transported the woman from the scene, police said.

Christopher Norton, 39, was charged with assault, breach of peace and reckless endangerment, according to police, who said the couple had been drinking beer while waiting for a train to Naugatuck.
