New Britain police have arrested a man in connection to the fatal shooting on Kelsey Street Sunday night.

Jonathan Gibbs, 26, of 92 Pettit Drive in Merdien, was arrested Monday and charged in the murder of 18-year-old Issaac Smith, according to police.

Officers responded to 15 Kelsey Street at 11:47 p.m. on Sunday, where they found Smith suffering from a gunshot wound in the driveway of the home, police said. Smith was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Gibbs is held on a $3 million bond and is due in court June 18, according to police.

A vigil for the victim will be held on Kelsey Street at 7:45 tonight.
