Meriden police arrested a New Haven man who  they said stole almost $700 worth of baby formula from a Target.

Police said Charles Lowery, 51, was arrested at the Bridgeport Correctional Facility.

The Target in Milford reached out to other stores after Lowery stole about $150 worth of baby formula in one instance and $500 worth in another, police said.

In October, security from Target called police after seeing surveillance footage of the baby formula theft, police said.

Lowery is being held in lieu of $5,000 bail for the Meriden charges and will appear in court of Feb. 8.
