Man Struck by Lightning at Travelers Championship

A man in his mid-20's was struck by lightning at the TPC River Highlands golf course in Cromwell.

A man was struck by lightning at the TPC River Highlands golf course in Cromwell Saturday evening.

Fire officials said that they responded to a call for a refuse worker who had been struck by lightning near Corporate Row at around 8 p.m.

The worker, who is in his mid-twenties, is not believed to have been directly struck by the lightning.

Security officials say that man was conscious and alert when medics arrived on scene.

The man was transported to Middlesex Hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.
