Bridgeport police have arrested a man with a gun who led officers on a foot chase Saturday night.

Officers responded to a noise complaint in the area of Orchard and Pearl streets and found five people sitting on the steps of a home, according to police.

One man, 26-year-old William Kelly, Jr., stood up when police approached, and a gun fell onto the steps, police said.

Kelly attempted to get into the house, and when he couldn’t, he began to run, police said.

One officer chased after Kelly while another officer seized the gun and detained the four other people, according to police.

More officers were radioed in to help with the chase.

After scaling a high fence, Kelly was Tasered, handcuffed and arrested by a responding officer, police said.

Kelly is charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, theft of a firearm and interfering with police.

His bond is set at $25,000.
