Parents thought it was strange that this man was interested in their son and launched an investigation that led to an arrest, police said.
A 15-year-old boy’s parents thought it was bizarre that a 64-year-old Shelton man was showing interest in their son, so they took to the Internet to see what they could find.
What they found were news releases documenting previous arrests of Brian Corringham, police said.
After finding this information, the teen’s parents called police to report that Corringham was having unsupervised and inappropriate contact with their son, police said.
Corringham was arrested Monday at his home and police said they found pornography on his computer at the time, police said. He had been released on bond and this was a violation, police said.
Corringham had been arrested in 2006 and charged with inappropriate contact involving minor male children. He was placed on probation in January 2008, according to a news release from police.
On May 21, 2009, Shelton police arrested him again, this time for a probation violation, police said.
