Thousands of runners will be lacing 'em up and hitting the roads around the Capitol City once again on Saturday, covering 26.2 miles of area roads.

The 2009 ING Hartford Marathon steps off at 8 a.m. at Bushnell Park in Downtown Hartford.  The event includes the traditional marathon, as well as a half marathon and a Kids-K run.

The ING Hartford Marathon is partnering with more than 20 local charities, including the Connecticut Children's Medical Center, the American Lung Association and the Petit Family Foundation.   Each charity has pledged to refund the registration fees for any runners who raise at least $300.

Drivers can expect traffic delays Saturday because of road and ramp closures during the event.

From 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., ramps will be closed and delays will be possible on I-91, I-84, Route 2 and Route 15. The Founders Bridge will be shut down as well.

You can find all the details on their website.
